ILLUMINATE set build Inspiration
If you are using a production company, they will usually handle the space build out, just make sure we all hop on a call to discuss options! And remember, intentionality is the key here. *Don’t forget the floor! If its already nice, like concrete or something pleasing that works with the design, then great! If its not, you will want to have a plan.
Below are some inspiration photos, think of it like a mood board or sorts. I have also noted ways in which you can pull this off.
Here are the basic floor plan requirements. These don’t include the small table and chair we will need for out editors work station which is just a small laptop and in some cases, a printer. The dimensions here can be adjusted to be a tad smaller if needed, these below are like our “wish list”!
Disclaimer, we don’t build these ourselves or bring the design and decor items with us, only the photography stuff (lights, cameras, beautiful photos, if arranged ahead of time, a backdrop and stands). We act as your creative partner or creative director for the space. We can be hands on the design process or hands off, however you or your planning team prefer!
The Easy Way
This first shot is lovely, all we have here is a large fabric backdrop and some seating. If this was your color scheme, it would be a beautiful way to create a space to photograph people in. We could bring the custom backdrop and supports (extra costs may apply) and we would just need a few small rental items there when we arrive.
This was from an event we did. The event planner simply used some of the florals from the ceremony, and we used a love seat that was already at the venue. If your event is at a stunning location (odds are it is if you are reading this) then perhaps we just set up in a place that exists already and fancy if up with some floral decor.
This is a very compelling scene, the contracting colors are lovely. All you we would need to do is decide on a couple colors, we could ship a large paper backdrop to your venue, you could rent a carpet or some other flooring option and boom, there you have it!
Thinking a little more intentional…
For those with a little larger budget and more resources.
I love this photo! All that would be needed to pull this off is a killer florist. Which I am sure you have, or have access to! Getting a concept on their radar early enough to have some conversations about the look, show them some photos and see if they can put in additional floral order if needed. This image is using a backdrop behind the florals. That could be optional in your case depending on where your venue is and if there was room in front of a flattering wall or some neutral gray pipe and drape.
This was from a corporate event we did in Chicago for the Nike Jordan Brand All Star Party. The planning team was already working with a great production team for many of the other event installs, we all put our heads together and dreamt up this locker room concept. A few extra rentals and swag from Jumpman and they had this built out!
This one was built onsite in partnership with a company that does unique balloon arrangements.
